NSW: Man jailed over Sydney hammer killing of war veteran
A Sydney man who said he awoke to find a 73-year-old man sexually assaulting him ..
has been jailed for bashing him to death and setting his flat on fire.
BEAU STEVEN MITCHELL has been jailed for at least five years and three months .. with
a maximum term of nine years .. in the NSW Supreme Court today.
24 year old MITCHELL had pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of LINDSAY MARTIN on the
grounds of provocation .. and had admitted to arson.
Mr MARTIN died from extensive head injuries inflicted with a hammer in November 2005.
